NGMC Offers Free Educational Seminars about Lung Cancer

Published: Monday, October 31, 2016

Did you know that lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death for both men and women, exceeding the number of deaths from breast, colon and prostate cancers combined?  In fact, the American Cancer Society says approximately one in 14 men and one in 17 women will develop lung cancer at some point in his or her lifetime.

Learn how you can protect yourself by attending one of the free educational seminars presented by Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) – an American College of Radiology designated Lung Cancer Screening Center.

A physician panel, including a pulmonologist, radiologist, thoracic surgeon and radiation oncologist, will answer questions about prevention, screening and treatment options for lung cancer.  There are two opportunities to attend:

Thursday, November 10, in NGMC Gainesville’s Walters Auditorium, and Thursday, November 17, in NGMC Braselton’s Education Center.

Registration and a free light supper start at 6 p.m., with the panel discussion beginning at 6:30 p.m.  The seminar is free, but registration is required.

For more information or to register, call 800-347-1416, or register online at www.nghs.com/lung-seminar.
