The sensor monitors blood glucose levels 288 times a day for a five-to-seven day period. The information gained from a glucose sensor may aid in adjusting current diabetes medication regimens by revealing patterns in an individual’s blood glucose. It also allows one to see how certain behaviors and choices affect blood glucose levels. The sensor may also be used to alert an individual of rising or falling blood glucose levels.
