ACR accreditation signifies that a facility has met stringent guidelines for quality patient care. The accredited program must meet specific personnel qualifications and equipment requirements as well as demonstrate ongoing quality assurance. Imaging experts conducting the survey review actual patient images and/or treatment records during the evaluation.
Mammography Services Accredited by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
Accreditation involved evaluation of all aspects of the service’s procedures and processes including film quality and technique, education of staff and physicians, interpretation of films, radiation safety and equipment maintenance and repair to ensure consistency of exposure and high quality exams. Random patient studies were selected for review and judged for overall quality and adherence to quality standards. The survey also examined procedures for patient follow-up.
