Am I eligible for histotripsy?

Any patient with liver tumors is a potential candidate for histotripsy. Other factors help determine if histotripsy is suitable for each patient – such as the location and size of the tumor.

How do I get on the wait list for evaluation?

The fastest way to get on our wait list for evaluation is to fill out this form. Next, please email the following items to histotripsy@nghs.com.

  1. Copy of your insurance card (front and back)
  2. Copy of your driver’s license

What information does NGMC need to evaluate my case?

Your most recent imaging will be used to determine whether histotripsy might be an appropriate treatment for you. Mail a physical copy of the most recent abdominal scans (must be within the last 6 months) to:

How long will it take to get the results of my evaluation?

Once your imaging is received, our histotripsy team will review your records within one week to determine if you are eligible to undergo a histotripsy procedure.

We will contact you to let you know if you are a candidate and about next steps.

What is the overall process?

  • Fill out the inquiry form
  • Send a copy of your insurance card and driver’s license to histotripsy@nghs.com
  • Mail us a physical copy of the most recent (within 6 months) abdominal scans
  • Schedule an in-office consultation with one of our physicians
  • Additional CT/MRI done by NGMC
  • Histotripsy procedure at NGMC Gainesville

Is histotripsy covered by insurance?

Our process to verify your insurance coverage will take 14 to 21 days. If you do not want to wait for insurance precertification, you may choose our self-pay option.
