How is the program structured?

The Administrative Fellowship Program is a one year rotation-based program designed to provide health care professionals with essential hospital management and administration training in a professional healthcare environment. This program is a hybrid between rotation-based and project-based.

Am I eligible?

Qualified applicants must either have a completed graduate degree (MBA, MHA, MPH) before the administrative fellowship begins, or be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program and complete their courses prior to starting the fellowship program. How do I apply?

NGHS’ Administrative Fellowship Program participates in the National Administrative Fellowship Centralized Application Service (NAFCAS). Application requirements include a cover letter, a resume, three graduate letters of recommendation (one academic, one professional, other), an official graduate school transcript, and an official or unofficial undergraduate transcript, and one essay.

How many fellows are selected?

Two fellows have been selected for the 2025-2026 cohort.

What is the application timeline?

Applications are typically accepted in July – September of each year for the following cohort beginning in June.

How are applicants selected?

Applicants are selected on a rolling basis as applications are received. There will be three levels of interviews. First level will be a virtual interview with past fellows. Second interview will be conducted with preceptors. Third interview will be onsite with various preceptors and physician leadership.

If I am accepted, when do I start?

The administrative fellow will begin in June 2025.

Where is NGHS?

Northeast Georgia Health System serves over 18 counties. With hospitals in Gainesville, Braselton, Barrow, Lumpkin, and Habersham our system serves over 1 million people annually. With a physician-based fellowship, our fellows will be rotating all over our service area to various practice sites. Mileage will be compensated.
