Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) employee donors help patients, families and community members through their generous donations to WATCH, the employee giving club of NGHS.
Every day, employees of Northeast Georgia Health System go about the business of caring for the health of the people of our community. They are nurses at the bedside, therapists helping people learn to walk again, cooks preparing meals, administrators planning for the future, or office personnel pushing through the details.
Caring for our community is part of their everyday routine. And when asked to give back to provide an additional level of support, they do – generously and passionately.
Through WATCH (We Are Targeting Community Health), employees fund technological improvements and education throughout the hospital and many community prevention programs like the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk and March of Dimes’ March for Babies to build a healthier Northeast Georgia.
Employee generosity allows us to reach outside the walls of the hospital to help our community with groceries, gas gift cards and other items to help.

Change Grants
In addition to raising money for health related needs, WATCH funds employee improvement ideas from across NGHS. Change Grants were launched in 2019 as a way for employees to submit ideas that can improve the patient, visitor or employee experience for anyone at any NGHS facility – from charity care, to a Donate Life flagpole – NGHS employees touch lives and make a positive impact!
Employee Emergency Fund
The Employee Emergency Fund (EEF) is designed to provide immediate short-term, financial relief to employees who unexpectedly experience a catastrophic event that results in an emergency need for necessities such as food, shelter and clothing.
By contributing to WATCH, you are also helping to provide access to these funds. Eligible employees unable to provide for the above necessities as a result of an extended illness who provide appropriate documentation of need can apply for assistance from this fund.
Therapeutic Music Program
Therapeutic Music Program at NGMC Gainesville was funded entirely by WATCH donors, allowing NGHS to hire certified therapeutic musicians who provide Live Therapeutic Music (LTM) to patients as part of their care plan.
LTM creates a healing environment that helps minimize perception of pain, helps vital signs stabilize and allows patients to relax – even those who are intubated or not responsive. In fact, clinical research shows that LTM is often as effective as prescribed pain or sedation medications.
