There’s a new option for spine surgery that results in less pain, smaller scars and faster recovery – and you don’t have to drive to Atlanta to get it. Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) Braselton now offers ultra-minimally invasive spine surgery for people suffering from herniated discs, spinal stenosis, arthritis or osteoarthritis and more.

Surgeons use a camera on a flexible tube called an endoscope to view the patient’s spine in high definition and use thin surgical tools to perform the procedures – all through an incision that’s about the width of a pencil. The advanced technique helps avoid damage to muscles responsible for stabilizing the back and reduces the need to remove bone.
