Integrated Prevention Services

The Center for Cardiovascular Prevention, Metabolism and Lipids provides an expansive array of services designed to support every patient throughout their entire heart health journey. From disease prevention, advanced diagnostics and ongoing care for heart disease, our experts tailor each service and treatment to provide an experience that’s unique to you and your needs.

Advanced Diagnostic Services

Effective heart disease prevention and treatment starts with precise and specialized diagnostics. By utilizing the most advanced and innovative imaging services and tests, our preventative specialists are able pinpoint specific risk factors for heart disease, while also detecting disease in the earliest stage possible – before you ever experience symptoms. A few of the advanced testing services you may receive:

Coronary Calcium Scoring

This test, which is also called a “heart scan,” uses a CT scan to measure the amount of calcified plaque in the coronary arteries. The calcium score is used to predict the likelihood of a coronary event.

Coronary Computed Tomography Angiography (CCTA)

A test that utilizes contrast and a CT scan to provide detailed images of the heart and determine if there is any narrowing of the coronary arteries.

Heartflow Analysis

A non-invasive heart test used to produce a personalized 3D model of the coronary arteries to measure blood flow to the heart and identify blockages.

Vascular Ultrasound

Using sound waves to produce images of the body’s arteries, a vascular ultrasound can be used to detect and diagnose blockages and blood clots in arteries throughout the body.

Ankle Brachial Index (ABI)

Blood pressure is an important indication of blood flow throughout the body – this test measures blood pressure in the ankle and the peripheral arteries. ABI is compared to blood pressure measured in the arm to ensure to determine if there is slowed blood flow in the legs.

Advanced Lipid Panel Testing

A comprehensive blood test that measures all the fats, or lipids, that are present in the blood. This typically includes total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides – all of which can impact heart and vascular health.

Genetic & Panbiomic Screening

Family history can be a major risk factor contributing to the likelihood of an individual developing heart disease; however, many individuals may not know their complete history. Testing for certain disease biomarkers allows experts to identify inherited genes for specific types of heart disease and the likelihood of developing the disease.
